Jakarta, Nov. 23 -- The Indonesian Military (TNI) reinforced disaster response efforts following the eruption of Mount Semeru in Pronojiwo, Lumajang, East Java, through rapid and coordinated action with local authorities and other stakeholders.
The TNI's local Army command deployed personnel to the field on Saturday (November 22) to ensure emergency operations run effectively, safely, and according to community needs.
"Since the eruption, we have assisted in evacuation, secured routes, and ensured aid reaches the affected communities," commander of sub-regional military command 083/Baladhika Jaya, Colonel Kohir, said in a statement received here on Sunday.
