Jakarta, June 26 -- The Jakarta provincial government expressed its optimism that the rallies that people would stage in connection with the Constitutional Court's (MK's) ruling on the presidential election result dispute on Thursday would run peacefully.

"We are optimistic that tomorrow all would proceed peacefully while we respect the principles of our democracy," Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan noted after a plenary meeting at Jakarta legislative body's building on Wednesday.

Baswedan also expounded that the Jakarta provincial government had continued to offer support for meeting the community members' needs, including traffic management during the rally.
