Jakarta, June 21 -- The Environment Ministry (KLH) is investigating three final processing sites (TPA) over allegations of waste management violations.

"The perpetrators can be charged with various articles in Law Number 32 of 2009 and Law Number 18 of 2008," deputy for environmental law enforcement ( Gakkum ) at the ministry, Rizal Irawan, said in Jakarta on Saturday.

He informed that Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has instructed all environmental services at the district, city, and provincial levels to immediately improve governance of the 343 TPAs across Indonesia.

This needs to be accompanied by action against waste management violations, he said.
