Jakarta, Sept. 22 -- Thousands of workers from Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) and Confederation of All-Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) held a demonstration in Jakarta, on Monday, to call for five main demands.
The workers held a protest in front of the House of Representatives (DPR) building with their demands, which include support for the National Police (Polri) to enforce the law, a push for the ratification of the Manpower Bill, a rejection of low-wage policies, the abolition of the outsourcing system, and the upholding of civil supremacy.
President of KSPSI, Andi Gani Nena Wea, stated that the plan for mass labor action was only known within the two confederations.
