Jakarta, Jan. 29 -- The Sumatra Regional Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force informed that the number of evacuees in the three disaster-affected provinces in Sumatra continues to decline as the response process progresses.
"The latest data we received from the Task Force Post shows that the number of evacuees is decreasing over time. It is hoped that all evacuees will eventually be free from evacuation posts," the task force's spokesperson, Amran, said in Jakarta on Thursday.
He explained that in West Sumatra Province, the number of evacuees decreased from 10,854 on January 24 to 9,040. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra Province, there were 11,085 evacuees, and in Aceh Province, there were 91,663 evacuees.
