Jakarta, May 19 -- President Prabowo Subianto expressed his support for Thailand's bid to join BRICS, a group of emerging economies comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

Prabowo made the statement while holding a joint press conference with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra at the Government House in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday.

"Indonesia fully supports Thailand's efforts to become a member of BRICS, and we are ready to help facilitate the process," President Prabowo said in his statement, which was broadcast by the Thai Prime Minister's Office on Monday.
