Jakarta, Dec. 27 -- Deputy Chief of Indonesia's National Police (Polri) Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo announced the deployment of heavy equipment and the installation of clean water facilities to expedite disaster response in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

In a statement released on Saturday, he said he had received reports from the chiefs of the Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra regional police forces, underscoring the need for heavy equipment.

"We need to accelerate emergency measures by mobilizing more heavy equipment," Prasetyo said.
