Jakarta, Dec. 5 -- Indonesia's Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait said his ministry has prepared housing assistance for victims of floods and landslides in Sumatra.
In a Thursday statement, he said ministry teams are working on-site to map the housing needs of affected communities. He also reaffirmed readiness to assist regional governments in managing post-disaster recovery.
Sirait noted that the determination of relocation sites rests with local governments, but the ministry will provide technical support to ensure decisions are safe and suitable.
