Jakarta, Dec. 1 -- The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) recorded that 33,173 victims were safely evacuated from areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
In a statement on Monday, Basarnas Head Mohammad Syafii reported that this figure was the result of a daily recapitulation of a series of operations carried out by joint personnel from Basarnas, the military, the National Police, volunteers, and local government authorities.
"The success of these safe evacuations is inseparable from the role of the SAR (Search and Rescue) team, which was supported by more than 5,000 personnel in North Sumatra and hundreds in Aceh and West Sumatra since the operation began on November 25," Syafii infor...
