Jakarta, Jan. 9 -- The Ministry of Social Affairs ensured that flood and landslide victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra are receiving multi-layered assistance from the government, ranging from compensation to economic recovery support.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated in Jakarta on Friday that heirs of the deceased victims will receive Rp15 million (around US$890). Meanwhile, those who sustained serious injuries will receive Rp5 million in assistance.

In addition, the ministry is also distributing household furnishing assistance worth Rp3 million per family. This aid is intended for victims living in temporary houses, permanent houses, rental homes, as well as those who have returned to their own houses.
