Bandung, West Java, Dec. 5 -- Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani urged the government and disaster response teams to immediately deploy emergency kitchens for communities affected by disasters across Sumatra to prevent hunger.

She stressed that all victims must receive proper assistance and that surviving families should be fully supported. Both central and regional governments, she said, need to respond to the tragedy more effectively, efficiently, and promptly.

"The kitchens must be up and running immediately. However, raw materials are still limited and this issue must be resolved," Maharani said after attending a discussion forum here on Friday.
