Sukamara, Sept. 26 -- The Sukamara District Government in Central Kalimantan has prepared 962 hectares of land to support the Rice Field Development Program.

The figure was adjusted from an initial proposal of 1,000 hectares following a survey and design investigation (SID).

Head of the Sukamara District Agriculture and Food Security Office, Dwi Harsini, said the allocation was already the maximum possible given the limited agricultural land available in the region.

She explained that the areas were selected carefully to ensure they were suitable for rice cultivation.

The prepared land is spread across several locations. In Pantai Lunci Sub-district, Sungai Pasir Village provides 350 hectares.
