Jakarta, Dec. 7 -- The Ministry of Social Affairs has sent assistance worth Rp66.7 billion (around US$3.99 million) as of Sunday, to support flood- and landslide-affected residents in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"The assistance includes logistics, public kitchens, and the deployment of disaster preparedness volunteers (Tagana) in all affected areas. We continue to coordinate and collaborate with all parties," Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said here on Sunday.

The ministry's disaster response efforts on the ground have been strengthened by the establishment of 39 public kitchens providing 417,749 meals per day, the supply of 101.4 tons of rice, and thousands of basic needs packages, including tents and blankets.
