Jakarta, Feb. 23 -- The Ministry of Social Affairs has dispatched emergency aid items worth Rp568 million (US$34.7 thousand) to residents grappling with floods in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province, and its surroundings.

"Yesterday, we began to mobilize assistance items from our 'social barn' in Palembang (South Sumatra) to Bandar Lampung for distribution," Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf remarked in Jakarta on Sunday.

He noted that the assistance is dedicated to residents in flood-hit areas across Bandar Lampung City, South Lampung District, and Pesawaran District.

The aid items consist of 2,000 packages of ready-to-eat meals, 1,000 packages of ready-to-eat side dishes, two multi-purpose tents, 10 family tents, 250 portable...
