Jakarta, July 29 -- SKK Migas and Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. (Medco E&P) have begun oil and gas production at the Terubuk Well Head Platform (WHP) M Project, lifting the total output at the Terubuk Field in Riau Islands.

"With the start of WHP-M operations, it means that the Terubuk Project is now underway," deputy for exploitation at SKK Migas, Taufan Marhaendrajana, announced during the "First Oil Production of the Terubuk WHP-M Project" event in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The project has raised Terubuk's production capacity to 6,600 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 60 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas. WHP-M alone contributes 3 thousand BOPD and 40 mmscfd of gas.
