Jakarta, Dec. 31 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected Sepaku Market in the IKN Nusantara Capital City area, East Kalimantan, to ensure its development can directly benefit local residents.

After visiting education facilities at civil servant housing on Wednesday, VP Gibran said Sepaku Market is an economic hub.

"The development of Sepaku Market is special because it takes place amid community life. Its existence is expected to directly benefit local residents," he said.

The vice president said preparations for the Sepaku Market refurbishment required more time to complete, to ensure the development uses a humane approach, respects residents' living space, and sustains traders' daily activities without disruption.
