Jakarta, July 14 -- The Indonesian government's free school program, Sekolah Rakyat (People's School), prioritizes equality and aims to produce intelligent, well-rounded students, according to Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf.
"Sekolah Rakyat emphasizes equal opportunity over inequality and fosters solidarity rather than unhealthy competition," Yusuf said on Monday.
He stressed that the program is designed to nurture smart and socially equal students.
Yusuf noted that Sekolah Rakyat would not have been possible without collaboration across sectors, involving various stakeholders working together to ensure its success.
