Jakarta, July 14 -- Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that the orientation period for Sekolah Rakyat may last up to 15 days, longer than at conventional schools, as both the teaching staff and students are entirely new.

"Orientation at conventional schools is only for the students, but at the Sekolah Rakyat, all elements are new. Therefore, it may take longer, up to 15 days," he stated at Sekolah Rakyat Junior High School 15 in Bogor District, West Java, on Monday.

After orientation, new students will enter the matriculation period, as no academic tests were conducted. During this stage, students will be introduced to the learning process, the minister remarked.
