Jakarta, April 26 -- Migrating overseas for work can be a pathway to prosperity as long as it is done legally, according to Deputy Minister for Migrant Workers' Protection (P2MI), Christina Aryani.

"(Becoming) migrant workers can pave the way to prosperity if taken seriously, working in the right places, and by following the proper procedures," she said while delivering a public lecture at vocational education institution LPKS Balindo Paradiso on Friday.

According to a ministry release received here on Saturday, Aryani delivered the lecture to students studying hospitality and cruise ship hospitality.

She also explained how migrant workers have helped improve the local economy.
