Indonesia, Jan. 24 -- A search and rescue (SAR) operation is ongoing to rescue over 80 residents who went missing following a heavy rain-induced landslide on the slope of Mount Burangrang, West Bandung District, West Java, on Saturday morning.
West Java Provincial Secretary, Herman Suryatman, said that 113 residents were affected by the landslides. Joint personnel and search dogs were deployed for the operation, he added.
"From the 113 affected residents, 23 survived and have been cared for. Meanwhile, 8 people were found dead, and 82 others remain missing," Suryatman stated near the disaster site.
