Jakarta, June 25 -- Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono stated that the construction of the giant sea wall will not interfere with the aquaculture pond revitalization project on the north coast of Java.
"It will not disrupt the revitalization of the ponds," Trenggono stated here on Wednesday.
He explained that the purpose of building the giant sea wall is to address issues of tidal flooding and land subsidence along Java's north coast.
Meanwhile, the government's plan to revitalize 78 thousand hectares of less productive ponds on Java's north coast is expected to transform previously unproductive pond land into high-value, sustainable fisheries cultivation areas.
