Jakarta, Nov. 27 -- Satellite and space expert Wahyudi Hasbi has been honored with the prestigious Nurtanio Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to satellite and space research.

"The Nurtanio Award and the Nurtanio Pringgoadisuryo Memorial Lecture aim to honor Indonesian figures whose ideas and contributions have inspired advances in aviation and space science and technology," said Arif Satria, Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), on Thursday.

Hasbi, who also serves as Head of the Satellite Technology Research Center under BRIN's Aviation and Space Research Organization, has played a leading role in several Indonesian satellite programs, including LAPAN-A1/LAPAN-TUBSAT, LAPAN-A2, and LAPAN-A3.
