Makassar, Jan. 22 -- The joint search and rescue (SAR) team has recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) from the wreckage of an Indonesia Air Transport (IAT) ATR 42-500 aircraft that crashed in South Sulawesi last week.
"At 11 a.m. local time, we found objects believed to be the aircraft's black boxes," Colonel Dody Triyo Hadi, an operations assistant at the XIV/Hasanuddin Military District Command, said in a video statement on Wednesday.
He confirmed that the team assigned to search the aircraft's tail section had visually identified its location on Tuesday (January 20), where the black boxes were believed to be installed.
