Jakarta, Sept. 2 -- Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo said the rupiah has stabilized at Rp16,400 per US dollar following market concerns over recent demonstrations, with the target of strengthening further to Rp16,300 per dollar.
On Friday (August 29), the rupiah had closed weaker by 147 points, or 0.90 percent, at Rp16,500 per US dollar, compared with Rp16,353 the previous day.
During an online working meeting with the Regional Representative Council (DPD) on Tuesday, Perry stressed that BI continues to safeguard currency stability, monetary stability, and financial market stability.
