Jakarta, Nov. 24 -- Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that Indonesia's rice and corn production is safe, meaning Indonesia does not need to import because domestic food availability is sufficient to meet people's needs throughout the year.
In a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Monday, he noted that the secure rice and corn availability has been achieved due to the hard work of the government and strong support from relevant stakeholders.
He noted that, based on Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, rice production from January to December 2025 is projected to reach 34.77 million tons, higher than the target of 32 million tons.
