Badung, Bali, June 26 -- The Tourism Ministry is targeting travelers from Asia and Australia to mitigate the potential impact of geopolitical crises, including in the Middle East.

"We are targeting markets around Indonesia, like Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. Those (countries) will be our targets, our focus," Assistant Deputy for Foreign Tourism Marketing II at the Tourism Ministry Yulia said in Kuta, Badung District, Bali, on Thursday.

She informed that the Tourism Ministry has conducted an internal review, based on which it has shifted its marketing strategy to nearby regions such as Asia and Oceania, moving away from its prior focus on distant markets.
