Jakarta, Sept. 10 -- Indonesia's government is finalizing a revision of its regulation on waste-to-energy (WTE) processing, aiming to align carbon trading instruments with global standards ahead of the UN climate summit in Brazil.

"We are currently finalizing it," said Nani Hendiarti, deputy for Food Accessibility and Safety at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, after speaking at the Katadata Sustainability Action for the Future Economy event on Wednesday.

The regulation, Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 35 of 2018 on the acceleration of environmentally friendly WTE facilities, is being updated in the run-up to the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).
