Jakarta, Sept. 12 -- The Indonesian government will distribute rice food aid for four months with a budget of Rp13.9 trillion (USD819 million), Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said Friday.

"We have decided on four months of food aid based on President Prabowo Subianto's direction," Hasan said at a coordination meeting in Jakarta.

The program will provide rice to 18.2 million beneficiary families, with each receiving 10 kilograms per month.

Distribution will take place in two phases: September-October and November-December, with 20 kilograms delivered each period.

National Food Agency head Arief Prasetyo Adi said the budget for the program, including operational costs, was set at Rp13.9 trillion.
