Kota Sukabumi, Nov. 23 -- Indonesia's Migrant-Worker Protection Minister Mukhtarudin urged prospective workers to use the government's microcredit program (KUR) to finance departures abroad, saying the facility remains underused despite sizable loan allocations.

According to a press statement from the Sukabumi City Communications and Information Office on Sunday, Mukhtarudin delivered the call during the inauguration of the Pasim Go Migrant Center in Sukabumi, West Java, according to the city's Communications and Information Office.

He said prospective migrant workers, whether departing independently or through local governments and placement agencies, can access KUR loans of up to Rp100 million at a six percent interest rate.
