Jakarta, March 7 -- Accelerating waste-to-energy conversion is expected to support waste management efforts, supported by new regulations regarding electrification, according to the Environment Ministry.

"President Prabowo Subianto has ordered Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan to handle waste management starting by changing the strategic plan," Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated in a press conference on Friday.

He noted that this step will be followed by several waste management strategies, including the conversion of waste to energy.
