Jakarta, Nov. 28 -- The Indonesian government is delivering rice and cooking oil to flood-hit Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra as part of its emergency response, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said on Friday.

He said the government is sending 32,700 tonnes of rice and 6,300 tonnes of cooking oil to ensure basic supplies reach affected residents quickly as severe flooding disrupts access to markets and public services.

North Sumatra will receive 16,000 tonnes of rice and 3,000 tonnes of cooking oil, which Amran said will help stabilize food availability in districts where inundation has damaged homes, farmland and transport links.
