Indonesia, Nov. 18 -- Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Tuesday called for a nationwide overhaul of regional hospitals to improve service quality and tighten governance, warning that many facilities still operate with fragmented systems and poorly integrated infrastructure.

Delivering remarks at the groundbreaking of the VIP Service Building at Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital in Purwokerto, Central Java, he said regional hospitals continue to struggle with long-standing problems ranging from unplanned layouts and mounting debt to uneven service delivery caused by poorly connected facilities.
