Solo, Central Java, April 11 -- Indonesia's Health Ministry will now require participants of the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) to undergo a mental health test as part of an effort to prevent problems arising from mental illness.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said in Solo on Friday that the effort also aims to anticipate criminal cases involving PPDS students.
The move follows the filing of an alleged sexual violence case against a resident doctor/PPDS student from the Faculty of Medicine at Padjajaran University (Unpad) by a patient's family at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung.
