Jakarta, Oct. 21 -- The Indonesian government has built 397 base transceiver stations (BTS) in Papua during the first year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, significantly expanding internet access in remote regions.
Communications and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid said on Tuesday that the towers have delivered connectivity to nearly 2,000 points across Papua, supporting efforts to strengthen infrastructure in underdeveloped, frontier and outermost areas, known locally as 3T regions.
"The digital infrastructure pillar must ensure continued development, especially in 3T regions. Some 397 BTS have been built in Papua, providing internet access to nearly 2,000 points," Hafid said in Jakarta.
