Kendari, SE Sulawesi, Sept. 24 -- Seafarers and fishermen from Southeast Sulawesi have strong potential to work abroad in the maritime and fisheries sectors, Indonesia's Ministry of Migrant Workers said on Wednesday.

"There is tremendous potential from Southeast Sulawesi's seafarers. They can help fill vacant jobs in several countries," said Mangiring Hasolan Sinaga, the ministry's Director of Complaint, Mediation, and Advocacy Services.

Speaking at a coordination meeting on preventing illegal migrant placements and human trafficking, Sinaga noted high international demand for maritime labor.
