Jakarta, Oct. 16 -- Indonesia expects a surplus in broiler chicken supply ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays, ensuring price stability and smooth nationwide distribution, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Thursday.
Agung Suganda, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, said national broiler production has continued to rise in recent months, reflecting a positive trend in the poultry sector.
As of October 2025, production is projected to reach 372,867 tons, while domestic demand is estimated at 325,641 tons-resulting in a surplus of 47,226 tons.
"This indicates strong performance in the national poultry farming sector," Suganda said.
