Jakarta, Sept. 17 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives is deploying professional business assistants (BAs) to help strengthen the operational capacity of Red and White Village Cooperatives, aiming to drive grassroots economic development.

"These business assistants will act as catalysts for growth and provide direct business development support to the Red and White Co-ops," said Panel Barus, deputy for Cooperative Business Development, in a statement on Wednesday.

BAs will assist cooperative leaders in integrating with the Village Cooperative Information Management System (Simkopdes), as well as in drafting and executing business plans to kickstart operations.
