Jakarta, Dec. 4 -- Indonesia is racing to restore telecommunications in flood- and landslide-hit areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra as emergency teams struggle to reconnect millions of affected residents, Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid said Thursday.

"Temporary connectivity via satellite - including SATRIA-1, Starlink, PSN, and others - has been deployed across impacted regions, including Aceh Tamiang," Meutya said in Jakarta.

She said the government is working to fully restore services through multiple channels while instructing mobile operators to repair damaged networks as quickly as possible.
