Jakarta, June 29 -- Indonesia's Tourism Ministry has called on managers of high-risk tourism destinations to strictly enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure tourism safety following the death of Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins who slipped and fell off a cliff of Mount Rinjani in Lombok Island on June 21.

Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana underscored the importance of SOP enforcement in response to a tragic accident involving Marins during a hiking trip on Mount Rinjani, West Nusa Tenggara. The body of this 27-year old Brazilian tourist was found on June 24, 2025.
