Jakarta, Feb. 4 -- The Foreign Ministry has denied news of the Hamas group's plan to place Palestinian prisoners released by Israel under a ceasefire agreement in Indonesia.

It made the statement in response to a news report that the Palestinian resistance group is negotiating with Indonesia and Algeria to host Palestinian prisoners released by Israel.

"Until now, there has been no official communication via diplomatic channels between Indonesia and related parties regarding the issue," the ministry's spokesperson, Rolliansyah Soemirat, said in a statement released on Tuesday.
