Jakarta, Jan. 28 -- Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono called for a thorough investigation into a shooting incident involving officers from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and five Indonesian migrant workers.
In his statement made on Monday (Jan 27), Sugiono expressed profound sorrow over the death of an Indonesian citizen in this tragic event.
"The foreign minister is pushing for a thorough investigation into the shooting incident carried out by APMM, including allegations of excessive use of force," Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
FM Sugiono also expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims, including those who sustained injuries.
