Jakarta, June 16 -- Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono has called for an immediate resolution to the conflict between Iran and Israel, and urged the two countries to exercise restraint to keep the situation from worsening.

"We are aware of the rising tensions between Israel and Iran. We hope this conflict can be resolved immediately and each party can restrain themselves," he told reporters on Monday.

He said he believes that the escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran could worsen stability in the surrounding regions.
