Jakarta, Jan. 6 -- Increasing national oil production is one of Indonesia's anticipatory measures against geopolitical turmoil, including the political unrest in Venezuela, as informed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
"As a precaution, we aim to increase the national strategic oil reserves and optimize production," the ministry's spokesperson, Dwi Anggia, said on Tuesday.
According to her, steps to increase national oil production include optimizing the use of technology and production techniques, such as fracking, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and horizontal drilling, to increase oil production.
