Jakarta/Ankara, April 11 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Palestinian independence and pledged to assist in rebuilding Gaza.

The two presidents incorporated the commitment in a joint statement after their one-on-one and bilateral meetings at the Turkish Presidential Palace in Ankara on Thursday local time.

"We appreciate Indonesia's stance on the Palestinian issue. In the near future, we will continue to work with Indonesia to rebuild Gaza and defend Palestinian interests," Erdogan remarked.
