Jakarta, May 24 -- The governments of Indonesia and Slovakia have explored opportunities to forge an alliance to realize inclusive global artificial intelligence (AI) governance ahead of the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The opportunities were discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, and the Ambassador of Slovakia to Indonesia, Tomas Ferko, in Jakarta on Friday.
"We realize there is a gap in AI development between the Global North and South. We do not only want to become a user but to become a significant developer," Patria said in a statement issued by his ministry.
The GPAI Summit will be held from November 25 to 26, 2025.
