Jakarta, March 11 -- The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) and the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) of the Netherlands have agreed to collaborate to strengthen counterterrorism in cyberspace.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the two parties in Jakarta on Monday.

BNPT head Eddy Hartono confirmed here on Tuesday that the collaboration will focus more on preventing the spread of radical terror ideologies in cyberspace.

"The BNPT hopes that with the existence of the MoU, going forward, the government of the Netherlands and us can work more effectively and focus on counterterrorism," he said.
