Jakarta, Dec. 25 -- Research support from Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is seen as crucial to strengthening the country's aerospace industry, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) stated on Thursday.

"With BRIN's support, we are optimistic about reinforcing Indonesia's position in the global aerospace supply chain," PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan said in a statement on Thursday as the state-owned manufacturer intensifies efforts to boost industrial independence and domestic content.

He noted that PTDI remains the only aerospace company in Southeast Asia with comprehensive capabilities in aircraft design, manufacturing, and maintenance, and it continues to develop globally competitive products.
