Jakarta, Dec. 30 -- Indonesia has been recognized among the world's safer countries in Gallup's 2025 Global Safety Report, ranking 19th in the Law and Order Index and 25th globally for the share of citizens who feel safe walking alone at night.

National Police (Polri) Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo highlighted the achievement as a reflection of public trust in the force during a year-end briefing at Polri Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said the report, based on responses from around 145,000 adults across 144 countries and territories in 2024, gave Indonesia a score of 89 on the Law and Order Index.

The score placed Indonesia above Japan and the United States, which recorded scores of 86 and 84, respectively, he added.
