Cimahi, W Java, Feb. 22 -- Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq called on regional governments, particularly the environment offices, to conduct monitoring of waste management in markets.

At a market cleanup event here on Saturday, he noted that National Waste Awareness Day, commemorated every February 21, must be utilized to increase the community's awareness of the importance of waste management.

He specifically highlighted that markets are one of the sources of waste. Therefore, a national movement to clean up waste in markets as part of the 2025 National Waste Awareness Action is deemed necessary.
