Jakarta, July 2 -- Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq reminded that the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Rorotan was expected to commence operations by the end of 2024 and urged it to commence processing 2,500 tons of Jakarta's waste.

"As promised by the Jakarta Provincial Government, the facility should be helping to reduce waste starting in 2024. RDF Rorotan can process 2,500 tons of waste per day," he stated after inspecting waste management at the Teluk Gong Market, North Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The minister emphasized that the operation of the RDF Rorotan facility is crucial to reducing waste in the Jakarta area, which is estimated to produce eight thousand tons daily.
